He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the following 2024 Indian general election; Anand Kumar Gond of Bharatiya Janata Party defeated Samajwadi Party's candidate Ramesh Chandra Gautam by margin of 64227 Votes.

BJP Prepares for Internal Elections with
Emphasis on Youth Leadership
Dr. Gond holds a Ph.D. from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith in Varanasi, an MBA from Allahabad University, and an MA from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith. Before entering politics, he was involved in agriculture and business. He has also served as the Director of the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Sahkari Sangh (PACFED) and is the President of the Petroleum Dealers Association for Bahraich and Shrawasti districts.
In December 2024, the Uttar Pradesh BJP commenced preparations for internal organizational elections. The focus is on electing new leadership at various levels, with an emphasis on promoting youth participation. Rajya Sabha MP Naveen Jain has been appointed to oversee the electoral process in Lucknow, ensuring a transparent and democratic selection of party functionaries.
